Our Vision

“SCWH was founded by four Connecticut licensed pharmacists with the sole aim to assist qualified Connecticut patients with the use of medical marijuana. Our aim is to provide the highest and safest level of palliative care with the utmost compassion while improving the overall quality of life.”

Our Dispensary

Situated in Milford, Connecticut, our dispensary is conveniently located at 318 New Haven Avenue (Unit B), just off Interstate 95 and Route 15 (Merritt Parkway), and less than 1 mile away from the Metro North, Shore Line East, Milford Station. The facility provides ample parking, including plenty of handicapped spaces. Our interior is designed with our patients’ needs in mind, providing handicap accessible bathrooms, comfortable lounge area and ease of access throughout the dispensary. Recognizing that sunlight has the power to appease the mind and body, the facility is bathed in natural overhead skylights and welcomes patients and caregivers into a bright, relaxing, and caring environment.

Our Team

Raj Patel, RPhOwner | Dispensary Pharmacy Manager
Raj is a licensed CT pharmacist with more than 20 years of pharmacy experience counseling patients on drug usage, dosage, interactions, and other health related pharmacological issues. He uses his knowledge and experience to provide SCWH’s patients with high quality patient care in a compassionate, informative, safe, and professional manner. His greatest satisfaction comes from assisting patients so that they can manage medical conditions effectively to maintain or improve quality of life. Raj is dedicated to his patients and wants to develop long lasting relationships. His objective as an owner and dispensary manager is to build an environment of professionalism, honesty, privacy, and friendliness. Raj is a graduate of the University of Connecticut-School of Pharmacy and is a die-hard Huskies Fan.
Jayesh Patel, RPhOwner | Dispensary Pharmacist
Jayesh is a highly knowledgeable and experienced pharmacist and pharmacy Manager for the past 20 years. He is poised to apply long-term expertise overseeing every aspect of pharmacy operations and expects the highest standards of excellence when it comes to customer service. He skillfully provides specialty services in the areas of medication therapy management, immunizations, and patient consultations. Jayesh is certified in Diabetes Management, CPR, and currently being certified in HIV Medication Therapy. Jayesh is passionate about customer satisfaction and deeply motivated in combining excellence in patient services with regulatory compliance, and quality assurance. Jayesh enjoys spending time with his family and likes to travel.
Deepa Desai, PharmD, Certified Pain Management Owner | Dispensary Pharmacist
Deepa Desai, a graduate of the University of Connecticut-School of Pharmacy, has 22 years of pharmacy practice, including diversified experience in the different facets of the pharmaceutical field, such as consulting, retail and hospital pharmacies. She recently finished a graduate program in pain management through the University of California, San Francisco. Now certified in pain management, she serves as a pain specialist in various clinical settings. Her primary focus includes one-on-one patient contact to discuss pain goals and best medication therapy to achieve pain control. Her true passion is learning about various areas of acute and chronic pain, and focusing on the medications used to treat common disease states using up to date practice guidelines. Her focus is to try and implement pain strategies and educate her patients on best practices for the use of medical marijuana and quality of life. In her spare time, Deepa enjoys watching movies and scrapbooking.
Tejal Desai, RPhOwner | Dispensary Pharmacist
Tejal Desai is a practicing pharmacist with 22 years of experience working in both retail and hospital settings. A graduate of the University of Connecticut-School of Pharmacy, his initial experience as a pharmacist began while employed for a small independent pharmacy in Wilton, Connecticut. Building relationships with patients and providing pharmacy care to the local community was the cornerstone for this independent practice where he learned the value of achieving personal customer service.

Tejal also ventured into hospital pharmacy and found a special interest in oncology and became very interested with working with cancer patients. He began specializing on the oncology unit assisting the staff with chemotherapy drug preparation, monitoring and dosing. Recently, Tejal has expanded his clinical services to the Psychiatric Unit. He is involved with the Psychiatry Interdisciplinary team where he meets with physicians and nurses on daily briefs, assisting them with treatment guidelines for patients dealing with substance abuse, psychosis, PTSD and depression. With his vast experience in an independent pharmacy and customer service to his clinical expertise in the hospital working with cancer, substance abuse, and PTSD patients, Tejal brings bring an overall understanding and compassion to patients. Tejal likes to read and write and watch films in his spare time.
